ABOUT LITTLE OWL DESIGN

Bruce Wayland & Marcello De Simone live and work in Amsterdam, and formed Little Owl Design in 2010.

With combined backgrounds in art history, studio art, as well as textile design, and the culinary world, they make the most of their diverse histories on diverse creative projects.

Starting with 'Altered Perspectives', artwork combining Dutch plates and paintings the duo have taken this idea into pure ceramic in the series title 'Altered Histories'.

For unique works, and limited editions, please see the dedicated website DeSimoneWayland.

Launching their first collection of wallpapers in 2014, inspired by nature, and the skies of Holland has lead to the Dutch Sky wallpaper in Summer Blue being chosen by MaxMara as part of the window and shop display for S/S 2015 for Weekend MaxMara boutiques worldwide.

This collaboration also included a printed version of the design which is available on request for all wallpaper patterns.

Their latest project 'From A Different Cloth' is the culmination of a two year project to cast antique forms of plates layered with textiles into pigment-coloured stoneware, resulting in a wonderfully tactile and colourful collection.
